Hi Friends,
My intention was to offer the content of this website freely, without inviting donations, and I’d like to make it clear that this is still an option. You are welcome to enjoy everything without making a contribution.
However, during the past months, I found myself paying a great deal of money for medical expenses, which has taken the bulk of my savings.
The main expense was surgery to remove my prostate, using robot technology. In some countries it is called the “da vinci” method, using a laparoscopic, keyhole technique, which is said to be less invasive than conventional surgery, with better prospects for a quick recovery. Basically, the surgeon sits at a console and does the operation remotely, using five or six robot arms.
The surgery took place at a hospital in Pune. I could have taken my medical issue to the National Health Service in the UK, which is free, but there are long waiting lists, with a huge backlog of patients, most of them with more advanced stages of prostate cancer than myself.
So, it would have entailed waiting for months, maybe for years, before surgery. Even then, there would have been no guarantee that I would have been offered the kind of surgery I wanted. Meanwhile the cancer in my prostate would have continued to grow and spread.
So, I decided to do the operation immediately, while there was a good chance of removing all cancerous tissue, when it was still contained inside the walls of the prostate, with no need for any further treatment such as radiation, chemotherapy, hormone therapy, etc.
From this perspective, the operation has been very successful. No further treatment is required.
If you would like to help me recoup my medical expenses, or simply express your appreciation for what is being offered on this website, you are most welcome to make a donation.
PayPal is the easiest method, but I can arrange bank-to-bank transfer if you wish.
Thank you for your interest.
Love and best wishes,
